Slimming Teas
Tea. That most well-known tradition of the British people, the very thing that makes us who we are. Whether it's Earl Grey, Darjeeling or simply a good cup of PG Tips, tea is the backbone of the nation. it’s especially popular with women, most of whom like nothing better than to relax with a cuppa, a biscuit (digestive, dunked) and a soap or two.

So it'll come as a pleasant surprise to learn that as well as keeping you relaxed and happy, tea can also help you lose weight.

The craze of 'slimming teas' has been around a while, but it's slowly gaining in popularity thanks to a renewed interest in traditional remedies. Slimming teas derive from authentic Chinese teas, whose herbal ingredients have been known to promote increased metabolism, better digestion and to reduce cholesterol.

Teas are a great way to improve your diet - especially if they replace fizzy or super-sugary drinks like fruit juices - and they can help keep your body hydrated and detoxified. White tea is especially good for weight loss, while anything with ginger in will improve digestion and circulation. Slimming teas are available in most high street pharmacies - Boots, Lloyds and several supermarket pharmacies offer them.

As with every kind of medication - and slimming teas, especially commercial brands which rely more on chemicals than natural herbs and plants, are classed as a kind of medication - ask a pharmacist which ones are the best for you. Some can have adverse effects if you are already taking medication for another problem - or even if you're not. So it's important you ask an expert which is the right one for you.
