So your skin is as clean as a Dettol-daubed worktop, as smooth as a baby's bottom and radiating the perfect healthy glow. You're all dressed up, ready to take on the world. You've got your bag, keys, phone, lip gloss and enough change for a decaf mocha latte, but there's something you've forgotten.

Protection. And not the usual kind. We mean protection for your face.

It’s okay keeping it clean and moisturised. But what about when you go out? A chilly winter breeze can do more damage to your face than any other part of you (unless you're stuck on a mountain top in nothing but your underwear, in which case the damage is usually quite widespread).

In summer, we all know how important it is to apply suntan lotion to everywhere exposed to those golden rays. That includes your face, especially your nose and the tips of your ears.
But people don't realise that protection isn't just for summer. In the cold winter months, it's important to use a thicker moisturiser. We know they take longer to soak in, but they give your skin a valuable extra boost of moisture which helps to combat those freezing temperatures. You also need to moisturise more regularly, maybe three or four times a day, especially just before going outside.
And even during spring and summer, the weather can be your enemy. You're still soaking up UV rays on a cloudy day, so try to use a moisturiser that has factor 15 sun cream built in. It's surprising how much of a difference such a little change can make.

Unlike clothes or make-up, you wear your skin every day. So it pays to take good care of it.
